Ladle of Ferns — Virtual Body Doubling Volunteer Liability & Confidentiality Statement

 

Volunteer Role & Relationship

As a volunteer host, I understand that my role is to provide peer-based support, structure, and encouragement during virtual body doubling sessions.

  • I am not providing medical, mental health, or professional therapeutic services.

  • I will not offer diagnoses, medical advice, or treatment recommendations.

  • I understand that my participation is voluntary and unpaid.

 

Confidentiality & Privacy

I agree to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of all participants.

  • I will not share, discuss, or disclose any personal information shared during sessions outside of the program.

  • I will not record sessions or take screenshots.

  • I will immediately report any safety concerns (such as threats of harm to self or others) to the program coordinator.

  • I will protect participant privacy by conducting sessions in a quiet, private environment whenever possible.

 

Boundaries & Conduct

I agree to uphold Ladle of Ferns’ values of compassion, respect, and inclusion.

  • I will communicate with kindness and nonjudgment.

  • I will not engage in romantic, financial, or non-program-related relationships with participants.

  • I will respect time boundaries by beginning and ending sessions as scheduled.

  • If I feel uncomfortable, unwell, or unsure during a session, I will pause or end the session and contact the program coordinator.

Technology & Accessibility

I understand that sessions are conducted virtually and that technology issues may arise.

  • I accept responsibility for ensuring my equipment and internet connection are functional.

  • I understand that Ladle of Ferns is not responsible for technical difficulties, interruptions, or data loss.

 

Liability Release

By participating as a volunteer host, I release and hold harmless Ladle of Ferns, its staff, board members, and affiliates from any and all liability, claims, or damages that may arise from my participation in the program, including but not limited to technical issues, personal injury, emotional distress, or interactions with participants.

 

I acknowledge that this is a volunteer opportunity and that I am engaging at my own discretion and risk.
