About the Event
Join us for the Banned Book Club Summer Session! During the summer session, we will focus on themes of war and power, LGBTQ+, and Immigration. We will be reading and discussing the following works:
Darkness at Noon by Arthur Koestler
All Boys Aren't Blue by George M Johnson
The Ungrateful Refugee by Dina Nayeri
We will meet on the first Thursday of May (5/1) to kickoff the session. Then, we will meet on the last Thursday of May (5/29), June (6/26), and July (7/24) to discuss each book respectively. We encourage you to take notes or keep a journal as you read. During our meetings, we will talk through what came up for us while reading, what we can learn from these works, how they relate to our lived experiences, and how we can use that information to create a path forward together. There will be virtual and in-person meeting…
